Alexine vs. Alexandria vs. Alexandrine or Alexandrina

We want her name to honor my late brother in law, Alexander. We don't love Alexandra due to its popularity to here are the 3 choices we do like! We want to give her a nick name but don't love any that are more traditional for this name like Alex, Allie, or Lexi so any ideas for a nick name would be greatly appreciated! If we can't find a nick name we love we may use one of these names as her middle name or just have her go by her middle name. So please help us by picking which variation of Alexander you love and give her a sweet nick name to go by! Thank you!

Sasha is actually a nickname for Alexander/Alexandra/etc. You could also use Xandie/Xandra or Sandy?

To help on the nick name front we've thought about using Ada and also Della if we use Ella as her middle name. We love short, sweet and classic! Yes some of these may be a stretch but they're the names we love!

Alexandrina gmv. But I love it's French variant more: Sandrine. Violet Sandrine is a stock combo I love.

Alexa and Alastriona ("al-a-STREEN-uh") are other variants. By the way, traditionally Sunny is a nickname for Alexandra. Love that too. As long as the full name you choose still has "-xan" in it (ex: Alexandrine, nn Sunny) I think it could work well. Just a thought. Good luck! :0)

Alexandra isn't all that popular but at #120 there's a chance it could break into the top 100 in the next few years.

you could always use Alexandra as a middle name, since it doesn't so much matter about the popularity then. Alexandra isn't so much used as a middle name, but it's slightly easier to pair names with than Alexandria.

Alexandria gmv. A J middle name could get you AJ as a nickname, which I think is so spunky on a girl.

If you dislike Alex, Allie, and Lexi, then I would strongly suggest that you put your Alexander-honoring name in the middle spot. I'm the same way, I liked Alexandra but hated all the typical nicknames, and I ended up crossing it off altogether. Good luck!
