Dani vs. Danny vs. Dannie

We want to name our daughter after my grandfather (Danny) but were thinking about changing the spelling. Let us know what you think and if you have any middle name suggestions! (thinking something "girly" since her first name will be more of typical boy name!)

Daniella nn Dani would get my vote, then she has the option of something girly or more unisex whatever she prefers, and either way your grandfather is honored with her name. Good luck!

I agree that you should find a fuller name for her. She gets her own first name, but still has the nickname to honor your grandfather. Danica, Danielle or Daniella would be cute. I prefer the spelling Dani.

Most girls with the name Danielle or Daniella shorten their name to Dani, so that got my vote. If I were her, I think I would prefer a feminine form and be able to shorten it to Dani. It'll look better on paper and age well.

I love Daniella and the nickname Dani. It's perfect.
Really any d name would work. Not just a dan name.
