Also considering Jefferson nn Jeff since my husband proposed at Monticello. Which name do you like best? We’d like to use a family name as the middle name, so here are some options: Patrick (this is the one that most important to me), Thomas, William, Norman, Joseph, Michael.

Thanks for the help so far. I like Hudson Patrick and Jefferson Michael. I forgot to mention Hudson also has meaning to us since we were married in the Hudson river valley area of NY. So only Jackson and Sawyer don’t have meaning- they’re just names we like. Please keep the ideas rolling- you guys are great!

I voted for Jackson but I also really like Jefferson, and the special meaning. The meaning behind Hudson is nice too but the name is unisex and really trendy right now, so I wouldn’t use it as a fn. Sawyer is ok. I would definitely go with Jefferson Patrick or Jackson Thomas. GL!!

Sawyer reminds me too much of Tom Sawyer. I like Jackson the best out of all of these, followed by Jefferson.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve never heard of a girl named Hudson. Does anyone think that naming him Jefferson has bad connotations? I know he was a smart man and a good president, but of course he did some sketchy things as well. Also, any suggestions as to which of these names is most popular?

I would definately go with Hudson Patrick for a boy since it has special meaning but I would not subject these very masculine names on a girl. Kennedy is another story altogether. Jefferson was a good president but I am sure that, if you sit down and think about it, you can think of a female that you really admire to name your daughter after :)

I haven’t ever met a Hudson so I like the originality of that name as well and Patrick really compliments the name :)

I think that Jackson is the most popular

Yes, to be clear- I’m having a baby boy :) I would not name my daughter Patrick!

Jackson is my pick. I don’t like Hudson because all I think of is the Hudson river and although it has personal meaning, he’ll have that association his whole life and since most people won’t know the personal story...

I Love Jackson and Sawyer. Jefferson’s a great name also bc I Love the nn Jeff. I don’t care for Hudson at all. If your last name is a bit long maybe Jefferson is not a good choice. GL !
