Montino vs. Monti vs. Monte

I really like the name Monte for a boy. I did my research and it seems like most people don't care for it. I'm really not sure why. I'm okay with unpopular names but is there a reason this name is pretty bad??

Monte is really the only good choice there as it's the only one that's not invented or spelled incorrectly. Nothing wrong with the name Monte, Italian word meaning "mountain". The alternate would be Montgomery 'Monty' meaning "ruling man's mountain".

Monte is great - A handsome, underused name that is familiar & cool. Monte is the traditional spelling (it means "mountain"), while Monty is a variant. Montgomery, Beaumont, Montague or Montana could be full names options, but Montino is a non-starter imo. GL!
