Pippi Longstocking in the children's book has the full name of Pippilotta and its a legitimate name meaning "lover of horses". However, I can imagine it being difficult. Just not a huge fan sorry. If you love Pippi, I would use Pippi since you'll be calling her that anyways. Not the hugest fan of people naming their kids names that they don't go by. Pippi is super darling and fits in with all the other nicknamey names out there (Ellie, Cassie etc...). My nephew is Ben, just Ben and he's never had a problem (just the occasional questioning if his full name is Benjamin).

Personally, I don't find the name attractive at all. I also think it would be a very difficult name to carry professionally when she is an adult.

No to Pippilotta - It is an invented name by the author of "Pippi Longstocking" and is just a mouthful. It is Philippa that means "friend or lover of horses." GL!
It works, but I just dont like it sorry

We named our daughter Pipilotte, Lotte for short. We wanted a name that evoked independence and she is fiercely that.
Obviously I disagree with the other comments and we kept her name secret to avoid negative opinions. As for carrying the name through adulthood, Pipilotti Rist is a famous artist (not her birth name), and legal name changes are not too difficult if that's what she chooses.
I realize this is a late comment, I hope you didn't let the other comments dissuade you.
