I like Ela! vs. Ela is alright. vs. Hard pass on Ela!

Hi! I am expecting my first baby! My name is Hazel Brianne. Ela actually means Hazel in Turkish. I have about zero Turkish heritage, but I thought it was a cool, subtle connection. I also love the unique look and pronunciation: Ay-la. I am not as much a fan of the more common Ayla. I'm thinking of Felicity, Elizabeth (although the beginnings might be too similar), Delilah, Joanna, Lucy, Malia, Carol, Camilla, Eloise (although the beginnings might be too similar), Caroline, Joanne, or Camille. All of these are variations of family names or the exact ones. If there is a certain combo that is speaking to you, feel free to comment because I'm so undecided. Thanks! -H

So sorry for not specifying! I am considering Felicity, Elizabeth, Delilah, Joanna, Lucy, Malia, Carol, Camilla, Eloise, Caroline, Joanne, or Camille for Ela's possible middle name. So sorry once again! :) -H

I didn't even pronounce this like Ayla, more like Ella. I don't necessarily like that her name will mean her sister's name, but if you're bothered by it, I wouldn't use it.

I really adore Malia, Lucy, Delilah, Camilla and Eloise! Lucy Delilah would be stunning with Hazel Brianne. Delilah Eloise would be too! Good luck!

Oh my gosh, I totally thought Hazel as a sister's name. I kind of think it would cute to honor yourself in her name.

Sorry but Ela looks like something is missing. It will constantly be misspelt and mispronounced...I immediately thought it was pronounced Ella.

I like it! I think it needs a middle name that doesn't end in -a.

Ela is a modern female feminine name, as well. Ela Camille would be beautiful! GL.

I love the connection to your name. Ela Carole appeals to me. I like the E at the end but Carol would be fine as well.

It's okay, but upon first glance I would've pronounced it Ella, so I think there would be pronunciation issues.
