**Redoing this poll, because I did it yesterday, and only got a few genuine responses... ** So, I came across a video on YouTube with all made up girl names, and I want some opinions on them! So, they'll be in the comments below... Would just love some opinions.. Thx!! (don't worry, I won't post this again.. I figured maybe just once more wouldn't be overkill, and there's good traffic at this time..)

I like Arietta, because it reminds me of the Miyazaki film The Secret World or Arrietty, so it's a name I'm used to hearing.

Faelina and Liselle are the only other two names I personally consider usable, but I'm definitely more of a traditionalist and not into trends.

I love SJ's videos! I added Idalia, Briarleigh and Isbrie to my list. Avie, Winslow, Covette, Evabeth, Claramay and Vivielle are also so beautiful!

Favorite is Wrenly. I actually know a Whitley. Most of the others just don't do it for me.

Whitley, Arietta and Winslow are cute. The rest look and sound made up to me. They don't sound like actual names and would probably be a burden for a child and adult to spell and pronounce for people. Imagine going into a fast food chain and placing your order. When the cashier asks for your name do you want to have to repeat it 6 times and then spell it out for them, only for them to butcher both the spelling and pronounciation when the order is ready. Then multiply that over every interaction for the person's lifetime. It is up to you if you want to place that burden on your child. While being unique is all well and good I think it is overrated and oftentimes a hassle.

Evabeth and Claramay are just double names without the space or hyphen. I actually know a Clara Mae. And Idalia is a real name, or at least I've seen a real person with that name.

Arietta could definitely pass for a real name. Whitley I would assume was a surname. I've seen Hartley as a name, though I don't care for it, so I don't think Hartleigh would be much of a stretch.

You had so many responses girl what you talking about??? You get bs comments though bc of all the drama you've cause obviously and you're gonna get people calling you out whether you like it or not little girl

I'm not fond of made-up names in general because it usually sounds like they're trying too hard.

However, some of the names on this list aren't too bad because, as someone else noted, they're really just rearrangements of existing names. I think that Tessadora and Evabeth are the best because they're based on existing names so people would find them relatively easy to spell, and they have easy nicknames if the child felt like going by something shorter later.

Winslow isn't actually made up; it's both a last name and a town in Arizona ("I was standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona ..."). I think Goldwyn might also be a last name.

Arietta, Idalia, Winslow and Whitley are REAL names. Goldwyn is a surname. Evabeth and Claramay are two names without a hyphen.

Favorites are Idalia, Arietta and Claramay.

You had 15 comments and only one of them was a "bad" one and that was someone saying pretty much what I said just now 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ why you lying for if you had 14 "GeNuInE" comments??

Five were from me, one was a hate comment. DO THE MATH. I shan't argue with you any longer, it's a waste of my time. Feel free to comment about names, or don't at all please. Have a nice day!!😊

Winslow definitely isn't a made up name as someone else pointed out. Winslow is a boy name of English origin that means "friends hill or burial mound." Arietta(Latin element arietta which means "little aria"), Idalia(Greek; behold the sun), Whitley(English; white meadow) and Hartley(Old English; derived from a place name that means "Hart Clearing") are also not made up.

In terms of the names that actually are made up on this list.. I actually really like Olydia, Maevry, Sylvalie and Raelora. I also love the sound of the sound of Elladeen but not too keen on the look of that spelling.

Then maybe dont comment so much🤷🏻‍♀️ Some people dont even read comments and just look to see if there were responses so if you clog up your own poll with your own stupid comments then no one else is going to want to help 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most of them are terrible. Whitley isn't awful, but it sounds masculine. Ameliana also isn't terrible, though most people would probably pronounce it like Emiliana. The rest are just not good. The worst one is Tinksley. Would you want that name?

Lol.. Not my names that I like or anything, just some that I saw that I thought would be fun to start a conversation😊

Whitley, Winslow & Maevry are really the only ones I might consider
posted by Lana :: 5 years ago | report
Here's the ones I like:
Tessadora - I actually think this is cute and it combines Tessa & Isadora which I adore
Maevry - different but something adorable about it
Wrenly - prefer just Wren but I've seen this name on the site before
Evabeth - LOVE LOVE LOVE
Whitley - not uncommon I know several, very 80's
Arietta - adorable and great nickname options with Ari or Etta.
Avie - cute
Elladeen - cute, very Southern if you ask me
Winslow - LOVE LOVE LOVE Especially with the nickname Winnie!
Zylie - cute

I like Tessadora, Maevry, Wrenly, Whitley, Arietta, Avie, Briarleigh (though I would spell it Briarly), Winslow, Elladeen, and Anaveah!
Not a big fan of Evabeth since it sounds like a double-barrel name, and I am not a fan of those names, same with Claramay. Some of them are a bit too "out there" for me, I love unique names, but they are aq bit too "out there", such as Fioline, and Tazmyrith... Some of them I just don't like variations of in general, like Goldwyn, since I don't like Goldie. I just really dislike Tinksley... I dislike Daveigh since it's too masculine. The rest I don't really like either.

This literally gave me cancer. The only usable one is Winslow. Literally if you name your child any one of these you are absolutely going to regret it in 10 years.

"This literally gave me cancer"
How did bad names lead to a fatal buildup of calcium cells?? I'm confused..

Claramay & Arietta are beautiful, and Ameliana is pretty but spelled as Aemiliana or Emiliana. Idalia is sweet, while Winslow is a lovely unisex name. :-)
