Jocie vs. Josie
What do you think of Jocie/Josie to honor a Joyce? I think Josie is so sweet, but in order to underscore the connection to Joyce, is Jocie the better spelling? I end up pronouncing them differently, though: Josie as JOS-ee and Jocie as JO-see-- seems subtle but? Any other ideas to honor Joyce that are not Jocelyn are very much appreciated!

Jocie I think makes more sense to honor a Joyce but either would be cute

They both honour Joyce. I would stick with Josie otherwise she will have to spend her entire life correcting people on both her spelling and pronounciation. She will introduce herself as "Josie with a C". It will be extremely frustrating. By starting with Jo it is a wonderful hononur to Joyce. GL!

Josie gmv. I think it works to honor Joyce. Jocie would probably get misspelt all the time. I get the whole pronunciation thing, but you could pronounce Josie the way you want and others should follow.
Johanna
Joanna
Josefina
Joya
Joy
Jolie
Marjorie
Joan
Joelle
Jolene
Jodie
Joyce means "joyous, merry" so perhaps a name meaning that. Alisa means great happiness while Allegra means joyous. Does Joyce have a middle name? Perhaps using the middle name or her initials to honor Joyce.

I pronounce them differently, too. Josie is JO-zee and Jocie is JO-see. So if you prefer one pronunciation over the other, that's something to be aware of. As others have mentioned, Joy is a great option, especially as a middle name.
Going off the similar meaning vein, Felicia and Felicity immediately came to mind.

Sorry but Jocie just doesn't look right and the C changes how it pronounced slightly.

Jaycee? similar to Joyce/Josie but more modern, and the pronunciation is obvious
Can you use Joyce straight-up as a middle name? Josie I've always heard with more of a Z sound- Joe-zee, and I'm not really feeling the connection to Joyce too much. Jocie I guess might be more likely to be said joe-see but a made-up spelling is likely to cause trouble.
