Kassia vs. Pronunciation Cass-ee-uh vs. Cash-uh

I came across the name Kassia and assumed it was pronounced cass-ee-uh. I have since been told it is actually cash-uh. The problem is I prefer my pronunciation. What do you think and is it unusable with my pronunciation? In other words will her name be continually mispronounced.

I feel like since that is not a common name people won't automatically assume it is pronounced like that. I prefer your pronunciation as well.

I think it is properly pronounced Ka-see-uh or cash-uh.

Kassia is the feminine form of Cassius. It's pronounced Ka-see-uh.

I would say it your way and I think that if someone wanted it to be pronounced "cash" they would throw an H in there.

Kassia as an English name, is pronounced as Cass-yuh, maybe your pronunciation of cass-ee-uh if you really press for it. Kasia is a Polish name pronounced as Kahsh-uh. Back in Poland, Kassia would not be pronounced as Cash-uh because the double s makes it Kass! I prefer Kasia because I'm half Pole, but Kassia is nice as well, I guess.

I think your pronunciation is fine though I did think it was Cash-uh.

I looked up the word cassia (part of the botanical name for cinnamon) and googled the pronunciation. You can actually listen to it instead of trying to read some phonetic encoding. One was a man pronouncing it and he used your preferred pronunciation. The other was a woman pronouncing it and she used the -sh- one.
