Arwen Estelle vs. Arwen Elizabeth vs. ?? Arwen

i have to have the name Arwen in the mix somewhere. would like to have Stella, or Estelle, after my grandmother, and my husband isn’t sure about Arwen as a first name... (he might just have to deal with it though. haha) other ideas for middle names are Adelle, Elsie, ( pronounced ell-see) Elise, (pronounced eh-leez) Elishia, i think somthing starting with a vowel will work best.

I love Estella or Stella but dislike Estelle, that one sounds like an old lady, sorry. I’m not big on Arwen, but it would work as a mn. GL!!

Arwen, because of the character Arwen Evenstar in the Lord of The Rings Trilogy. eben though the character is fiction, i hope my daughter to be as enchanting and whole hearted as her. The name comes from Celtic and Welch background, although Tolkien took it from the english meaning as well. Royal, Fair Maiden, Muse, etc. (our last name is pronounced bowls, sorry it cut off in the poll

I love the name Arwen but my husband said no to it too ;) I thought it would be neat to spell it Arewyn though.

thanks! we are being conscience of the middle name, because if she eventually doesn’t like her first name, we want her to be able to go with a middle name, or some nickname derived from it.
Gwendylan (traditionaly spelled Gwendolyn, but she could go by gwen, or dylan)
i’ve also mentioned Elena.
yes, i’ve thought off other spelling fro arwen, as well. Arwyn, Arewin, (i can hear my parents calling her winnie already.)

I’m with your husband on this one! Definitely use Arwen as a middle name...Please! Just because Mommy likes Lord of the Rings, doesn’t mean your child will appreciate her namesake...It’s a tough name- I wouldn’t use it as the first. I do love Stella though.
