Jedidiah vs. Nicknames

We have chosen the name Jedidiah for our son but we feel a shorter version would be nice. I thought Jedi was cute but I think it sounds too star wars-y. Can you help?

I would just use Jed.
The only other thing I can think of is J (maybe write it out like Jay) or if his middle or last name initial could work like JJ or JT for example.

I like Jedi, too! But I agree it's very star wars-y and would be associated with that relentlessly.

I don't personally like Jed. Some others that I personally feel could work and that I also like...

Diah (pronounced like in the name)--I actually LOVE this and think it is so incredibly handsome sounding and compliments the full name Jedidiah

You could also use the spelling Dia for my first suggestion

Jiah (pronounced like my first suggestion) - LOVE this one too!
