Lowell Ives ? vs. Lowell Yves ?

Hi, we are going to call our son Lowell, and for his middle name I like Ives, however I’m not completely sure on the pronunciation. If anyone could help, that would be great! Also which do you like better ’I’ or ’Y’? Thanks!

is it eyeves or eeves? i don’t really know how to say it so i don’t know what spelling would e best, i don’t really like the names though sorry

other sites say it’s pronounced eev
I like it with a Y better. The Y makes it look more masculine.

Ives is pronounced eev and Yves can either be pronounced eyevz or eevz

Ives and Yves are slightly different names since Ives comes from the name Yves and is a form of it.

I like how Yves looks the best, but I like how Ives (eyevz) is pronounced best. Since they are so close though, you could definitely get away with pronouncing it whichever way you like best. Good Luck!

Yea, the designer Yves Saint Laurent pronounces it eyevs, so it’s whatever way you prefer.
