Elle vs. Elsie vs. Ellie

My husband loves the name Elle. Our family would prefer a nickname for Elle such as Elsie Ellie or Ella. Which name is your fav? Would like to hear any thoughts. Thanks!

There are tons of names Elle can be a nickname for. I'd go with Eleanor but here are some others.

Ella
Elliana
Gabrielle
Brielle
Aubrielle
Estelle
Eloise
Elowen
Noelle

If you want to go with something short, Ella nn Elle would work great.

Elle, nn Ellie, gmv. Ellie seems the most natural nn for Elle.

If I didn't read your request correctly, and you're looking for a full name for Elle, then Estelle, nn Elle / Ellie / Elsie, works beautifully. Good luck! :0)

We have a long scandinavian last name so my husband prefers keeping the first name short and his top choice is Elle (her middle name will likely be Sierra) He's open to using a nickname such as Elsie, Ellie or Ella (but her true name would be Elle). I also like Eliana but he's not interested in any longer options such as Elizabeth or Gabrielle

@FredaCat- you read it correctly- we're deciding on a nn for Elle (ex. Elsie) or only using Elle (no nickname)

Elle "Ellie" seems like the best option. It's the most natural. However, Elsie would totally work too if her middle name is Sierra. El-Sie! I love Elsie, so I would go with that over all three though. I do love Ella too, but doesn't seem like a nickname.
