Indy vs. for a vs. boy?

What are your thoughts/opinions of Indy for a boy? I know that Indiana Jones is called Indy, but I also know that Indie is fairly popular for girls. Indy would be used as a full name. I lived in Indiana and feel strange using it as a name, and I don't like Indigo. What do you think?

Always have loved Indie for a girl, but I think it totally works of a boy too. The Indy spelling seems more boyish to me and I can see it being rough and tough. I prefer it on its own too, rather than a nickname.

I like it!
I actually prefer Indy used as a boy's name.The first things I think of are Indiana Jones (as you said) and Indy car/Indy 500 so I definitely think it seems masculine.

I know a boy Indie (with this spelling, and that's his full first name). i think it works for either.

Sounds like it could work as well for a boy as a girl. I don't know any personally.
