Elsi vs. Elsie vs. Elle

We've decided on the name Elle Sienna for our daughter. What are your thoughts on using Elsi/Elsie as a nickname while she is young? Or should we only use the name Elle? (not a fan of the nickname Ellie) My husband is norwegian and prefers the scandinavian spelling of Elsi. I like it but its not as familiar to me as Elsie.

I love that idea! Elle is so cute and underused. Elsie I love as a nickname, and never thought to use Elle as a back form.
I am also more familiar with Elsie, but if he strongly prefers Elsi, it's ok.
Have you thought about being flexible with the spelling? Since it is a nickname and not a legal name, it can be ok to spell it different ways. How does that sit with you guys?

Elle is way overused (along with Ellie).
Elsi or Elsie won't age well at all.

I prefer Sienna as the first name and Elle in the middle.

My cousin named his baby Elsie. Everyone comments on how adorable the name is. I'd go with Elsie! It's adorable!! Best wishes!

Why not spell it Elsi? Nice to keep the Norwegian heritage. Since it's only a nickname, it's not particularly necessary to write it down anyway. When she's older she can decide on her own how to spell the nickname.

I have always thought the name Elle was pretty. Elsi or Elsie would be a cute nickname.
