Scot is a nationality not a boy’s name.

I think one T is completely acceptable! Lol.

My name is also spelt with 1 t not 2 and I'm much happier with this name as it gives me more individuality and uniqueness with my name as not many people have the same spelling.

I've never been able to figure out why people care so much! To me, it means a person from Scotland, which would make the single 't' spelling seem most "correct." However, having gone through my life with the single 't' spelling, I have gotten sooo tired of "Why don't you spell it right?", or even arguing with me about the spelling of my own name (I literally had a collage teacher tell me she thought I was misspelling my own name when I tried to correct her). Seriously folks, it's a name--get over it. So what if some of us don't use the "French" spelling with a "silent t" at the end!
