Muriel gmv. Adore it.

I used to like Muriel because it fit with my general obsession with vintage names. But then I discovered that it's Gaelic (Muirgheal) meaning "bright sea." Instantly smitten.

Meriel feels trendy. If you've got information on it's history / meaning / origin, etc. I'd be interested to learn more. Mariel is OK, but it also feels trendy, at least next to Muriel. Good luck! :0)

P.S. Have you seen "Muriel's Wedding?" The main character changes her name from Muriel to Mariel. It's actually part of the story line, whether she's change it back or not. :0)

Reminded me of Friends, Chandler Muriel Bing. Muriel is not a flattering name. I don't like any of the three names in the poll, but I guess Mariel gmv.
