Gabriel (Gabe) vs. Benjamin (Ben)

Hi guys, it's me again. Those who do not know, I've found out we are having a boy and after screening and a diagnostic test I've found out that the doctors are almost 100% certain my baby has down syndrome. These are the names that I have fell in love with! Gabriel (Gabe)- means "God", "God is my strong man", and "strong man, hero. Benjamin (Ben)- means blessed, child of good fortune. It was such a hard time deciding the final two. Please pick your favorite. Thank you guys again!

Voted Gabe, but only cause I couldn't choose both. :) Can't go wrong. Gabe I would say is a little less popular, which I'll always learn towards.

I agree with Emma, you honestly couldn't go wrong. I love both and both meanings are special. What about Gabriel Benjamin or Benjamin Gabriel?

Benjamin nn Ben it will be easier for him to learn. Gabe has a lowercase b. bs and ds are extremely difficult for alot of children to distinguish which one to use. Make sure that your state doesn't require them to use their official birth certificate name. Benjamin would be difficult until he has ben in school awhile. I love Gabe,but as a teacher I know ben will be easier on him. Ben always stands the test of time.

I agree with Wren. I think Benjamin Gabriel "Ben" would be so handsome and easier for your son. Ben is pretty straightforward sound wise.

I gotta vote for Ben hands down. It's masculine, handsome and classic. My nephew's name is Gabriel, we call him Gabe and his parents often get negative feedback from people telling them they don't like his name. I think Ben sounds so sophisticated and handsome and you don't hear it so much anymore. Congratulations on your sweet baby boy 💙

I definitely prefer Benjamin much more. Personally I don't care for Gabriel or Gabe but I think Benjamin Gabriel sounds really nice. I think that would be a good choice! Best of luck!
