Lambert vs. Yes vs. No
Hello. I need some advice on a name. Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I've referred to our baby as our 'little lamb' or 'lamb' because I think it's sweet. We found out a few weeks ago now that we're expecting a boy and have been considering names for him, but I've only just come across Lambert and realised it has 'lamb' in it. Would it be too cheesy to actually call him that because of this? Is Lambert a name you like? We'd just like some other opinions as we hardly know anybody called Lambert. Thank you in advance.

I agree that it would make a good middle name.

I like Lambert. The French pronunciation is roughly "lahn-bear" but English speakers pronounce it as it's spelled. It's the name of saint and martyr. If you both love it, go for it.

I don't think it's cheesy, but I don't really like the name.

Definitely cheesy. Keep it a cute at-home-only nickname.
I think of the old, short (Disney?) film, Lambert the Sheepish Lion.

Not unless you want to be murdered in your sleep by your child who has been bullied mercifully. I'm kidding but seriously I would not want to be called Lambert. Pick a name you would want to wear.

Not a fan. Also reminds me of a childhood song from a cartoon Lambert the Sheepish Lion....

However, Lambert as a first name seems kind of cheesy if you call him "your little lamb", how about using Lambert as a middle name? You could still call him your little lamb. Or how about Lander or Landon? That sounds kind of close to Lambert.
