Chloe vs. Ella
After almost 10 yrs of marriage my husband and I are welcoming our first child! Baby girl H will be here in early March. When we first got married we discussed baby names and Chloe was at the top of the list for a girl, we still love it but is it now to dated? We also really like Ella as it's similar to our fav boy name, Elliott, which we can no longer use (family friend names their son that) but on the other hand it's super popular. Our question is what would you choose...possibly dated name or a super popular name?
The Top Baby Name is...
Chloe H
Ella H

I don't really think Chloe is dated. There just won't be 3 Chloe's in every class. It's a sweet girl name though.

Chloe is not too dated. It is in the top 24 names out of 1000. It is popular. But no matter what name you use there is not going to be 3 or more in her class.

Chloe will be dated to this time period, but I don't really see that as a problem. Lots of people have names that are dated to their generation.
Ella is massively popular and will also be dated to this generation.

Chloe is not dated. I think Ella is cute. It's very popular but I do really like it. But honestly between the two I think I'd choose Chloe. Good luck!!

I think you are in a conundrum. Popular names usually become dated if they've been trending in the top 10 for up to a decade. Think: Ava, Emma , Ashley and Brittany (90s). Your picks are popular, not sure in the top 10 today.
