Chances are VERY slim that Charlotte will go by Charlotte. She will pick up the nickname Charley at some point in her life. May be a different spelling but most likely by the time she is 8-10 years old she will pick up that nickname. If you don't like that nickname I would take it off your list. I didn't get the "will go by Charlotte haha" joke.

Original poster here. Oh interesting point. I guess I was thinking we could avoid nicknames with the name Charlotte. I actually don't like the nickname Charlie so I appreciate that perspective. I hate Char pronounced Shar. Lottie is fine I guess but I don't really get the appeal. Soooo yeah maybe we should be rethinking this name.

My cousin Charlotte goes by Charlotte rose (her middle). Which is pretty. She's very girly and never has gone by Charlie. GL.

I have a friend Charlotte and she has gone by Charlotte her whole life.
That being said with middle name Claire I like Sophia.
