Goldie vs. Betty vs. Rue
I adore old girls names, suggestions would be very admired!
The Top Baby Name is...
Goldie Rue would be darling.
Betty gmv. Adorably vintage.
Goldie and Rue are darling, but they can't stand on their own as well as Betty (originally from Elizabeth). If you don't like Golda, Marigold or Aurelia (= gold) for a full name, or Ruth, Ruby, Jerusha, Prudence, etc. you may like:
Florence (nn Flo), Mabel, Enid, Polly, Hazel, Maureen (nn Mo), Georgia (nn Gigi), Helen (nn Nell), Alice, Myra ("MIE-ruh"), Beryl, Zelda, Loïs, Ada, Pearl, Mavis, Jean (nn Jeanie or Jessie), Una, Hester, Jemima, Glynis, Ida, Maxine (nn Mimi), Dorothy, Melba, Carol, Blanche, Marjorie / Margaret (nn Peg, Peggy), Olive, Selma, Virginia (nn Ginnie, Ginger, Gigi), Estelle, Ramona (nn Romy), Joyce, Opal, Vera, Sibyl (nn Billie), Harriet (nn Hattie, Hettie), Eleanor (nn Nell).
Good luck! :0) (Sorry for any repeats.)
Goldie is darling! I second the option of Goldie Rue. How beautiful. I disagree that Goldie can't stand on its own. I think they're are so many nickname names that are being used as full names, it is perfectly fine for Goldie to be on its own too. Although, I do love Gold and Marigold with the nickname Goldie.
We love the suggestions so far thank you, these are the ones that we like so far.
My friend named her daughter Elisabeth June and calls her Betty June. I think it's cute and stands out among her peers. I really like the suggestions of Cecile, Elowen and Cosette. My 15 year old daughter wants to name her future daughter Cosette
Esther, Hattie, Mae, Ruby, Libby, Elsie, Geneva,
Georgia, Winifred, Stella, Olive, Phoebe, Maggie
I prefer Betty. Other old names you might like (sorry for any repeats).
