Super darling name. I have always loved the sound of it and the nickname option of Wynn/Winnie. I do prefer Bronwen over Bronwyn, but not a huge issue. I think if you love it, use it. I think it works well with Penelope.

My only quibble is the spelling. Traditionally it's Bronwen. You could even use the nn Wren for Bronwen, although Bron / Bronnie is sweet too. (In Welsh, names ending in "-yn" tend to be masculine.)
Have you or your friends ever read / seen "How Green Was My Valley?" There's a character in there named Bronwen who goes by Bron as a nn. Good luck! :0)

Ultimately this is YOUR baby. You are NOT going to please everyone. I am sure you got negative feedback on Penelope. Name her what YOU love and NOT what will please other. Whether friends and family love her name or not they will love her. My family hated what I named my son but now two years later most tell me they cannot imagine any other name.

I like it but maybe a different middle name bc B.O. isn't great initials to start with. Bronwyn renee, claire, mae ,marie, Elizabeth, isabelle, kate?
