The name Ray is a girl's name. Most female Rays used to spell their names Rae, but now the Ray Charles, ray-of-sunshine way is cool for both genders.
With that in mind I prefer the spelling of Ray with the Y. Here are some middle name suggestions...

I have never liked the spelling Rae I just find the AE very unattractive! I like Rei it is very professional and cute! I also love Ray as a ray of sunshine!

Rei is the only version I like. All the Rays I know are male and 60+, and All the Raes are 50+

Rae Bethany. I also know a girl named Rey "ray." Rei reminds me of outdoor company REI.
