Isabelle vs. Ysabel vs. Isabel

We really love the name Isabelle and we've been set on this spelling since we decided on the name however recently I saw the Ysabel spelling and it's thrown a spanner in the works. Do you think people would struggle with the pronunciation of Ysabel?

Ysabel...I first mistook this as "Why-za-bell", probably not what you're going for. I'm sure other's would do the same as me.

For me, I prefer the Isabel spelling, but Isabelle is also really pretty. Isabel seems less over-the-top imo.

For anyone who doesn't know Ysabel is a variant of Isabel which is of Spanish origin meaning pledged to God. Essentially all three names are pronounced the same just different spellings. Sorry I should've said that in my original post.

Isabel gmv. Beautiful.

I can never decide which I love more: exotic, mysterious Isabel or sophisticated Isabelle. It just depends on my mood. I can see why you are having a hard time.

Ysabel is lovely, although I'd assume the parents wanted me to use an "ee" sound at the beginning instead of my usual "ih" (in English). Good luck! :0)

I love Ysabel so had to vote for it - but I think a lot of people won't be familiar with the origins and may dismiss it as a trendy spelling

I find Isabel more elegant and sophisticated than the frillier Isabelle

I have always liked the Scottish spelling Isobel. Sorry I know that doesn't help! I agree Isabel is the best of the three you've got. Although I used to have a wonderful Chilean colleague who spelled it Ysabel so I love that too.
