Olivia Millicent Abigail Dorothy vs. Olivia Isabella Abigail Charlotte vs. Olivia Ashley Abigail Nicole

Twins girls. Isabella and Charlotte are names we live. Dorothy, Millicent, Ashley and Nicole are family names. Is it a bad idea to use family names for middle names or does it cause issues down the road.

I'm not personally big on using honour names, family or otherwise, but enough people do it that i'd say its normally not a problem down the road - unless for example you use the name of one grandma for a daughter thinking you'll give the next one the other grandma's name, but then you don't have anymore daughters, or something like that.

I like Isabella and Charlotte, but not keen on the flow of Olivia Isabella - I'd do Olivia Charlotte and Abigail Isabella

I love Olivia Ashley & Abigail Nicole.
If you end up going is Isabella & Charlotte, I'd definitely do Olivia Isabelle & Abigail Charlotte (drop the A so it doesn't rhyme with Olivia), I prefer this to Olivia Charlotte & Abigail Isabella as suggested above, though I agree this option is better than the original. Olivia Isabella just doesn't flow right.

We used family middle names for both our already born kids and plan to again for our new baby. I also have a family middle name. There was haven't been any negatives that I've seen. I like the connected feeling of it. I barely remember the person I'm named for but I feel connected to her though my middle name. I hope my kids feel the same.

Olivia Millicent and Abigail Nicole would be my picks from your list.
