Full Name vs. for vs. Rue/Roo
We've been calling our baby 'Rue/Roo/some variation of that since we found out we were pregnant. No reason why really, it just stuck. We've since found out we're having a girl. We don't want to just name her Rue, even though that's what we're thinking we'll call her. Can you think of any first names that the nickname 'Rue/Roo/etc' could come from? Thanks so much.

Ruby or Ruth would probably be your best bets. Good luck!

I agree that Ruby and Ruth would also work. Good luck!

Oh and there's Ruben if you're edgy and into the boy names on girls trend!

Rue is a full name. I would just call her Rue.
My father's friend is Rooney. That might work for you.

Love Ru as a nn for (with some imagination):
Prudence, Jerusha, Gertrude / Trudy, Muriel, Ursula, Marylou, Cruz, Maricruz, Prunella (= little plum), Ruby, Ruth, Truth, Ruxandra, Drusilla (fem. of Drusus), Runa, Sigrun, Gudrun, Merula, Ruperta, Fairuza.
Ruxandra is a variant of Roxana. The first syllable is pronounced to rhyme with book, hook, look. Nn Ruxy ("ROOK-see") is adorable too. Runa is the feminine form of Rune, Scandinavian, a form of writing used by Vikings. Merula is Latin, meaning blackbird ("mehr-ROO-luh"). Good luck! :0)

I knew a Marushka, same Rue sound in the middle syllable.
