Elodie vs. Thoughts?

Came across Elodie and it's growing on me, just not sure if it's asking for a lifetime of spelling and pronunciation issues? If you have other ideas for names like Elodie (pronouncing it like Melody without the M), please comment! I'm trying to find a sweet girl's name that doesn't have an R in it (my sister has a speech impediment and has trouble with Rs and I want her to be able to pronounce her niece's name easily). Thank you!

I have always been unsure of this name. Sometimes I think I really like it, but other times, I'm like it reminds me of Elodea. I love the name Elowen though. Its similar to Elodie, but more recognizable.

I love Elodie. My husband and I are considering it for our second baby. You could use Alodia(Elodie is the French form of this name) or Elodia(Spanish form or Elodie, eh-LO-dhya). You could call her Elle, Ella, or Ellie. Good luck!

I think it's a beautiful name and I really don't see any issues with spelling and pronunciation. It's spelled exactly how it's pronounced and it's pronounced exactly how it 's spelled.

I love Elodie!
It's so pretty and I really don't think it will give you pronunciation problems but if someone does get it wrong it would be simple enough to say "it's like Melody without the M" just like you did in the intro.That's a very easy way for people to remember it.I think you should go for it!

You said it sounds like Melody without the M and that is exactly how it sounds...like you forgot the M. Or like L.O.D.

I'm not a huge fan but in terms of pronunciation I don't see a problem. Have you though about Ella? I adore this name and it's similar to Elodie but much cuter IMO.
