Ethie vs. As a nickname vs. For Amethyst?

Nicknames for Amethyst. So much you can do: Ammie, Amy, Ethie, Thyst… such a fun name! I like Amy but generally other people don't. Ammie won't age well, Thyst is… idk, but I really like Ethie! What do you think? I'm set on Amethyst even though I guarantee I'll get comments about the meth in the middle. Sorry still using it. Thanks!

Misti or Este could work even if they're a bit of a stretch. They have similar sounds so I thought they could work. Amy is super sweet though.

I feel like Ernie still sounds close to meth. However, I like Amy and Misti. Maci or Tess could maybe also work?
