Blake vs. Gracie vs. Ivy Mae

We love these names for our daughter! Our other daughters are called Rose and Sadie. Blake and Gracie will (probably) not have a middle name, but Ivy will have the middle name Mae! Even though Mae is her middle name, we will call her Ivy Mae as a full name. I hope we make sense! P.S. We do not need you to suggest any names!

If the other two girls are named Rose and Sadie - which are 100% feminine, - why consider Blake which is 100% masculine for a girl. She deserves to have a girl's name just like her sisters.

Hi Guest, that is a very fair question! We are considering it simply because we love the name. Our naming style has changed over the years. We have always loved Blake and with this being our last baby, we are seriously considering it :).

Hi! I'm just wondering why no middle name for the other names?

I love Gracie :) my daughters middle name is Grace and I love all variations of the name!

Hi Beth! We aren't sure about a middle name for the others just because we don't have any ideas (we have considered lots). We don't like Mae with Blake or Gracie because of the repeating 'ay' sounds. We are definitely open to ideas, but like I said, we have considered heaps! Plus, the main reason Ivy has the middle name Mae is for legal reasons. We think it will be easier if Ivy and Mae are two seperate names, instead of using a hyphen (Ivy-Mae). Does that make sense? I can try and explain it better!

I like Ivy Mae and Gracie. I think either are cute and sound nice with sisters' names. I think Sadie and Rose are very traditionally feminine names, and people seeing it on paper would definitely think Blake was their brother. But the sister on Outdaughtered is a cute girl with that name, and it is still better than Blakesley.

Even though you love it Blake really is the odd one out. Ivy Mae or Gracie fits right in. I think Ivy Mae just seems like the little sister.

Blake! If your style has changed why not give into it? Names don't have to match. It's not the "odd one out" it's a name . Personally I like different names. Plus Ivy will just make everyone think of poison Ivy

Blake gmv - I like Ivy, but not Ivy Mae, and probably not Ivy with Rose,
I see no issue with the names not 'matching' that's such a weird way to choose what to name an individual
