Milla vs. Millie

Do you prefer Milla or Millie. The concern with Milla is that it sounds like Miller and then with Millie that it is just a nickname. We don't want to use the quite out-dated Millicent or Mildred as full names. Thanks!

I think both are fine. I prefer Millie and I don't think it needs to be short for anything.

I didn't think of Miller until you said it. Even then I don't equate the two, at least in my dialect. Millie is sweet. But I agree it needs a full name.

Wildcard: Millaray. It's an indigenous American (Mapuche) girl's name meaning golden flower. Good luck! :0)

I've heard Mila (me-lah) as a nickname for Amelia and Millie as a nickname for Matilda before.

I second the above comment from 'Andy!' They wrote exactly what I was going to write :). May I also suggest Mila and add that Millie can be a nickname for Matilda (& imho Matilda doesn't sound as old as Millicent or Mildred)

I love it on its own, but if you need a nickname how about Emily / Emilia nn Millie?

Mila could be Milena, Milana, Mylene.
I do love Millie more. Millie could also be Melissa, Amelia, Emilia, Camilla, Madeline, Emmeline, Romilly
