I prefer Eleanor because it's pretty and classic

I like Elena too but it's more of a haspanic name

Elena spelled this way is the hispanic version. I have seen causation women with this name too. It's a derivative of Elaine.
Alaina
Elaina
Elena
I don't care how it's spelled. I think it's gorgeous and the meaning is pretty too.
I don't like Eleanor because it feels too gramma to me. I like some vintage names like Eliza, Louisa, Clara, and Evelyn but Eleanor isn't my taste

This is a tough one. I adore both.
I love Elena, it's so elegant and soft. I also adore Eleanor because you can use the nickname Nora. I also don't like that Elena would be called Ellie.

However, not considering nicknames, I think I prefer Elena

Also something to note. There are 3 ways to pronounce Elena. "El leen uh" "El lay nuh (Alaina) and ellen-uh. I like all three however I prefer helen-uh (Helena) over ellen-uh.

So I guess my ranking goes like this
1. Helena
2.El lay nuh
3.Nora
4. El leen uh
5. Eleanor
6. Ellen-uh

However all are gorgeous, just nitpicking at this point haha

Elena is not a Hispanic name (. And notice I spelled it correctly). I'm Elena and *** grasp**** I'm white 🙄. Most people always say E-Lay-Nah . I've never been called anything else .

Eleanor or Elinor is my favorite
Classic & timeless

Elena is nice too.

Both are lovely and I flip flop on which I prefer. Eleanor is more classic to me, and sounds either like a medieval queen, or a Jane Austen heroine. Elena is more spritely sounding to me, and makes me think of someone from Eastern Europe.
Either may have pronunciation issues, depending on where you live and where she might live in future. Totally understand the poster saying that Elena can sometimes be pronounced like Ellen-uh, but where I'm from Ellen-uh is actually the standard way of saying Eleanor.
