Dylan vs. Riley

Hello, having bit of a dilemma I am due with a baby next year and always planned on naming a boy Noah, my best friend has not long had her baby boy and has just told me that she has named him Noah which she knew I was going to use not mad at her just disappointed in her to do that as she told me she was naming him something different. I do have back up names but not sure if I love them as much. Could you give some suggestions which are similar please thank you. I will put the back up names in the poll aswell.

That's unfortunate! How about using Noah as his middle name? If someone asks, just be like you always loved the name but didn't want him to share the same first name with your best friends son. I like both Dylan and Riley (prefer Reilly) though. Riley Noah would be handsome.

Thank you, for your suggestions and ideas. We usually in our family go with family names but we are now thinking of using the family name and also having Noah as another middle name.

Really like Evan, Isaac, Mason, Milo, Levi and Cole

I love Riley and have met more boys named Riley than girls. I've only met one girl Ryleigh.
I do know a girl Dylan.
Picking between these two is hard but I adore Riley James. James is my favorite middle name.

If you have a gitl, you might like Elowa because it has a similar sound. It is so rare I can't find much info on it online, but I read a book with a Portugese character named Elowa and it is so pretty and airy, I just loved it!

I was also going to say Jonah due to the close sounds to Noah. Other ideas that either have the same sounds or same feel: Nolan, Micah, Joshua, Nicholas, Ronan, Conan, Roan, Monroe, Donovan, Gordon, Howard, Joseph, Corey, Soren, Owen, Tobin
