Julia vs. Julianne

Hello, our daughter will be a little Julie but we would like a full name for the birth certificate. We don't like Juliet/Juliette, it's too Shakespearean. I think Julia feels "younger" but with Julianne she would have the option to go by Anne/Annie one day if she doesn't like Julie...any thoughts? Thank you!

I think maybe you are over thinking it a little bit with the nicknames. If you like Julia, use it. I think it's pretty unlikely that someone would randomly change their life long nickname to something else without a reason. 😀

Julie is a full name. I'd go with just Julie if that's what you are going to call her and if you love it.

My Great Aunt was named
Julia Anne nn Judy

My Second cousin named her daughter after Julia Anne because she was her Grandma she used the name
Juliaunna nn Jul pronounced (Jewel)

I know 3 Julie's

I like all of the names except Judy
