I like that Charlotte offers other nickname offers if she so chooses! I have a name that's open to different nicknames, my family have always used one and my friends use a completely different nickname for me! I've always like that

I live Charlie but I agree with your husband about naming her Charlotte and calling her Charlie. I'm Samantha but very few people call me that as I went by Sammi when I was younger but as an adult I go by Sam

Use Charlotte, hands down! I like the nickname Charlie but just like that. A nickname. Especially since if you use Charlie on its own people will think this is a boy

Charlie as a given name is a lot more popular for girls than boys. I love Charlie on it's own for a girl. Over 2,000 baby girls were named Charlie in 2020. I agree that if that's what you are going to call her, go for it.

If you are really never going to call her Charlotte, then just use Charlie. If if you think she might go back-and-forth between the 2 and you are happy with that, use Charlotte.

I know a girl named Charlotte Blaine M. nn Lotte (pronounced like Lottie)
Her mom wanted the nn Charlie, but her dad wouldn't hear of it.
I also know a girl named Charlie Lane M.
Personally I like Charlie more than Charlotte. That might have to do with the fact that Charlie Brown is my favorite cartoon character. I would totally use Charlie for a boy or a girl.
