Rion is the original way to spell it but just like Aodhan and Fionn, it’s lost the tradition and class that comes from original names. People will just think you wanted your child to be unique and gave him a silly spelling.

I absolutely adore the name Orion. I think it’s adorable and he can go by Rion if he doesn’t like his name or wants a more professional sound.

I also know a man named Rhian. He’s Irish but I’m not sure where the spelling comes from. I went to HS with him and teachers weren’t really sure if it was "Ryan" or "Ree-in" -- like Ian with an R. I know that people spell the Irish name Rhiannon and Rhianna like that, though.

Ryann looks lopsided. Ryan is very handsome! I think its okay on a girl, but it isn’t really popular in the least on a female. Very few female Ryans. Rion looks intresting. But Ryan is the better spelling. Orion is okay if you like it, too. GL! Hope my opinion helped!

I love Ryan. I tried to get my husband to let me spell Ryan as Ryon but he hated that variation . I think Ryon will work tho
