Silas vs. for a girl?

About 15 years ago I discovered the name Silas and liked it for a girl. It is now pretty prominent to use as a boys name. Will this still work or should I keep looking?

Honestly they are using all boy names on girls bow. I go into a baby gymnastics class and theres a Blake a Jamison and James and to this day I have no idea if they are boys or girls. Just makes it awkward. Unless the parent says something. Tou dont want to be the one to say hes so cute excuse me that's my daughter. But happens everyday I guess.

Don't use it for a girl. Not every name is unisex.

It's kinda sad parents of girls use boy names. If it's in the top 2000 for boys I wouldn't use it for a girl

I wouldn't recommend it.

Silas means Forest. Wood. Man of the Forest. I absolutely love it used for a male, but to use it for a female I think it would be like naming her Alexander or Andrew or Thomas or Matthew. It's a very strong male name, not like Micah or Drew.

Save it for a boy or just toss it. It's not a girl name at all. There's so many beautiful feminine names or unisex names that you could choose from! I wish this trend of giving girls 100% masculine names would die out. They'd never stick their son's with a 100% feminine name but do it to their daughters.

I appreciate the feedback.
I posted because to me it sounds feminine but have seen Silas trending for the last 5 years or so for boys. I would never use it for a boy but also wouldnt want a daughter Silas to feel like "A Boy Named Sue".
Thinking I will just pass on it. Having to post a poll to see if it is acceptable shows I already was having my doubts.
Thanks again everyone for your honest input.

It's a biblical boy name . Silas is a powerful biblical name. I don't see how this name sounds girly. I would definitely use it on a boy never a girl

Silas has ALWAYS been masculine, never meant for a girl, nor should it be. Girls should be allowed to be seen as girls and not get saddled with boys names.

Silas can be used as a girls name in some Romani traditions, but it has a different origin from the biblical name. I also have no idea if it's typically used anymore. Nevertheless, if you're not Roma, I wouldn't recommend using that.

Have you considered using Sileas? It's the Scottish version of Cecilia.

Thank you for the suggestion of Sileas. I have never heard of this before
