Honestly, I just think of, like, a van. Not necessarily a horrible thing. I probably prefer Vaughn.

^^I see someone else suggested Vance. There is also Ivan, Sullivan, Evan, Donovan, Evander, and Vander.

Sorry to keep commenting but I feel like if someone had an official name and went by Van for short I am more okay with this spelling but if the name is only Van/Vann I prefer Vann.

Van has a cool, mid-century vibe. But I agree it needs a fuller name. It is a unisex name in Vietnamese, meaning cloud. But it's pronounced "vahn," more like Von. Good luck! :0)

I agree with the others, if you want to use "Van" it's better as a nickname for a name with Van in it like Evander or Ivan, Vann stands better on its own if you really just want to name him Vann instead of an officially recognized name. Vance or Vaughn are also good standalone options.

I have a coworker named Van, but he pronounces it "vahn." I believe he's from the Philippines.

I just think of a mini-van. I would also choose a longer middle name like Evander or Ivan. I also think of it as a last name like Van Der Man or Van Twisk.
