Hi guys! I know Ladybug is unique, but it's very special to me. I'm about 90% sure that that'll be her middle name. But, I'm open to other first and middle name suggestions!
Maybe use just Lady as the middle name.
Quinn Lady or Josephine Lady
Quinn Lady or Josephine Lady

I would suggest finding a name that means ladybug, if there is one or a name associated with them.

We call our niece Laneybug and sometimes Ladybug but just as a nickname. I don't think it would be a good idea to give a child the name Ladybug. I just think she would get made fun of. I would do Lady as the middle name or find a name that means ladybug. Bogárka is Hungarian "beetle, bug" and Lenneisha is an African bug.

Also, I know its special to you but it could be your daughter's least favorite thing about herself. I would just decorate her room with Ladybugs and call her Ladybug as a nickname.

I would avoid ladybug as a given name BUT I think it's an absolutely adorable nickname for Adelaide!

I love creative middle names and it's special to you. Ignore anyone trying to convince you otherwise, and stick with Ladybug.

You know what I think would be cute? Adelaide. Nickname Ladybug. "Laide" from Adelaide. Josephine Adelaide or Quinn Adelaide would be beautiful

This reminds me of names like Eliza Lilypad and Calla Firefly. Great names that don't receive any fanfare on this site. You'll probably get a better reception over on the Nameberry forum.

A bug? 😆 that's just funny. Obviously should be a nickname and not a given name. She'll have to spend money to correct that down the road.

I think it's generally a safer, more thoughtful option––for your child's sake––to use very unique names (like Ladybug) as a nickname, rather than given name. Even if you really love a name, it's your daughter's name, NOT yours. And I wonder how an adult woman would feel about being "Ladybug." I stopped going by my nickname and started using my given name (Victoria) when I went to college, because I wanted to be taken more seriously.
I think Adelaide (as recommended in previous comments) is a very classy, strong, and feminine name that "Ladybug" is an adorable nickname for. If she loves being Ladybug, she can keep the nickname. But when she turns 21, or 18, or 12 she might not appreciate being named after a cute, plump bug with spots. It's also a name that would definitely get a lot of mockery from others. Like I said, even if YOU love the name and it's meaningful, remember that this is your daughter's name, and she's the one who will have to deal with it.

What about Ladybird instead of Ladybug? I believe the Ladybird Beetle is the basically same thing (maybe a different species of ladybug? I'm not an entomologist, obviously lol) as a ladybug, so it could still hold the same meaning (I'm assuming there's something significant about ladybugs to you) but at least it has the word "bird" in it and not "bug." Bug is not great lol

Stop smoking the wacky and get serious. Don't make a joke of your daughter.

It's funny how people get bothered so easily here. She's your daughter, you get to name her anything you want.
@Yami - I remember those names too. I think it was actually Eliza Waterlily. What a pretty name!

I personally wouldn't use Ladybug but I think it's fine. It's unfortunate that it literally has the word bug in it but nature names are popular and honestly I heard worse and middle names can be a little weird imo. If you're open for ideas Mariquita (lit. Marys beetle/bug) is the spanish word for ladybug, Coccinelle (lit. little scarlet) is the french one and Marienkaefer (lit. Marys beetle/bug) the german one they sound more like names but still literally mean ladybug. I second the ladybirds idea it seems to be the british term for ladybug (at least thats what wikipedia says).

Not trying to be negative but ladybug is used as a slang word and often as an insult for lgbt people in various languages.

I like Josephine Ladybug the best. I usually love Quinn but for some reason not with Ladybug. Goldie Ladybug sounds like a fairytale charater it's cute but I would only choose one of them for a child.
Ideas
Victoria Ladybug
Charlotte Ladybug
Eleanor Ladybug
Elizabeth Ladybug
Georgina Ladybug
Juliana Ladybug
Theodora Ladybug
I think a longer feminine name goes best with Ladybug :) makes me think of the daughter of a victorian era entomologist.
