Just use Griffin. It’s much simpler for your child.

use Griffin so your kid won’t have to say, "my name is Gryphon, but it is spelled G-R-Y-P-H-O-N."

I think you should stick with the spelling Griffin. I don’t think Griffin is that popular yet, but no matter the spelling, he will still be Griffin X. He would always have to correct everyone about the spelling if you spelled it another way. I don’t think it makes it anymore unique.

I agree stick to the traditional spelling just for the sake of your child. Trust me, its annoying to have to spell your name everytime you say it!! Gryphon is awful but if you really want something different the en spelling isnt bad.

Gryphon is actually the correct and original spelling. It’s also the one used when speaking of heraldry. Griffin is a modernized version of this original name. Either is fine. If you want Gryph as the nickname go with Gryphon. If you want Fin as a nickname go with Griffin.
