My brother and his wife, whom we are very close to, just had a baby girl. They named her Anna Ruth. We are expecting a baby girl in November and were planning to name her Emma Grace. However, we feel that Anna and Emma are a lot alike (since they both start and end with a vowel and have a double constant in the middle). Are they too close for cousins that will be seeing each other weekly and are rather close in age? We really, really love Emma, and are at a crossroad about what to do.

Hi, me and my sister happen to be pregnant at the same time and she’s due 2months before me. I’ve always wanted to name my daughter Allison and she knows this. I know its not the most unique name and I don’t own it but now she plans on naming her daughter Allison I’m so annoyed! What should I do?

Hi! I am having GG twins and have chosen these names. My other children are Thomas Oliver(11), William Alexander(7), and John Frederick(4). I’m so excited for girls and want to give them the perfect names. The nns of all my children will be Tommy, Will, Jack, Annie, and Lulu. Wdyt? Do Annabel and Louisa go well together and fit with the names of their brothers? Thanks!

After two handsome wonderful boys my husband and I are expecting our first girl! We are ecstatic! We are having a hard time coming up with a name we love. We need some inspiration. We want something unique like her brother’s but still beautiful. Please help? Older brother’s are Dorian and Colin. Thank you! Candace and Paul

Our little one’s due date is the 31st of October so she/he will be an scorpion. Since we gave our other kids names relating to their birth elements we want one for our next baby, too. We made a list. Which one you like best for a boy/girl? Our other childrens names are Aidan Cornelius (fire) and Seraphina Jane (also fire). Thank you guys!!

Hi, I’m thinking of naming my child after a tv/film character but don’t know which one to choose. Not sure whether it’s a boy or a girl yet, we’re waiting till it is born for a surprise :) thanks!

Which is your favorite spelling/nickname for Nicholas/Nicolas? I love Cole, which was the nickname in Medieval times but several people have said that it doesn’t make sense and I should go with Nick. I am using the name to honor a friend of mine who spells it Nicolas, and I don’t know if I should use his spelling or the normal spelling. Wdyt? Thanks

What do you think of "unique" names? When I was considering named my son Simon everyone was saying "No! Don’t do it! It’s too popular. You should give him his own identity. Use a unique name!" But all the names I was given as being "unique" (and ones I still see on here) are boys in his class. There are 2 Cooper’s, a Broderick, an Archer, a Zane, etc. And he’s the only Simon in the school. So I’m curious, do people choose "unique" names because they believe their kid will be the only one with the name or because they’re trendy and come out of nowhere, unlike names like Simon, which has been around for years? We’re asking because we’re having our second son and want to name him Paul and everyone’s giving the same "it’s so popular" comments. Thanks!
