Fun! Baby Name Polls
Hone your baby naming skills and help others. Which baby names are best?
These are real names from my sons elementary school. Was just wondering if people think these are good names. I am open minded but I just wonder how kids deal with having an outrageous name...
I’ve posted a few times and received some helpful commentary but the majority of the commentary, and I’ve seen this to be true for many polls, is less intent on helping the mother to be find the perfect name befitted for her child and family and instead completely focused on getting their own negative and judgemental assumptions, excuse me, "opinions" out. What does "trying too hard" mean? Are you supposed to not try and search at all and settle for the names everyone else seem to be using? Are you supposed to ignore your own likes so that society is comfortable with your name choice? How do you know what any given child would like yourself? A poll yesterday alone was created to bash names that are uncommon. Are we not supposed to civil adults here? We talk about children bullying but newsflash they obviously get it from someone. I want to know what on earth do those of you who make such commentary think? You must know you aren’t being helpful just hurtful and out of place. If you try to defend yourself saying you aren’t being judgemental, well sorry to tell you that you are. No one deserves to be judged based upon a name. If you help to continue that cycle of behavior, shame on you. You’re partly the reason this an issue in the first place with that mentality. Pick up some Shakespeare and realize a rose would still smell as sweet even it were named Demon or Wisdom. I post this in hopes that the next time I share the names I love, perhaps you will find something actually useful to say and not just tear people down. Everyone has their own likes, the point is to be genuine not biased when it comes to giving advice. An opinion doesn’t need to be rude or final, it can be constructive while still getting whatever your point is across. Even so, guess what? No one has to listen to it and won’t when you’re coming across like that. So try being constructive next time anyone feels the need to say something useless and just as petty as a sixth grade tease. Let’s end judgement and unwarranted assumptions now. Thanks! BTW I apologize to the other posts and moderators but this is a real issue on this site.
My husband and I are expecting baby #2 and would love suggestions for names. We like longer, regal/old fashioned sounding first names that can have a shorter nn like our daughter Catherine "Kate". Any ideas?
I have two kids from a previous marriage, Anna Elizabeth(10) and David Paul(7). My husband has Lacey Cheyanne(6). Now we are having a girl together. we need names names that satisfy both our tastes (he likes a bit more unique I like normal) and btw all three kids live with us so they need to go with their names. thanks!
Our daughter, Skyler Naomi is becoming a big sister to three girls! Riley Grace is baby A, but baby B and C do not have names. People have voted for Peyton and Taylor, but do you think that we should stick with more girly names? Riley and Skyler are both unisex names and we love them, we just can’t seem to find any other unisex names we absolutely love. Please help and suggest names that fit well with our girls! Thank you.
My husband and I are naming our daughter Elizabeth after my mom who passed away from cancer when I was a young child but we want her to have a nn that she goes by as my mom went by Elizabeth and we like the idea of her sort of having her own name per say. I really like Elle and Eliza but we wanted to get other people’s opinions and ideas on possible nn’s or if you like the nn’s we like. All feedback is appreciated. Carol is my MIL’s first name so we were thinking about that as our daughter’s middle name since her first name is after my mom but I’m not sure if I like that, Carol does have a double middle name, Anne-Marie, do you think either of those go better with Elizabeth?
My husband and I are a very musically oriented couple, we meet working in the same music store and we love all types of music but most oldies. We have 4 fur babies. Freddie Mercury, Lionel, Barbra and Patti. We are expecting a baby boy whom we will be naming Oliver [Ollie] but need help narrowing down a middle name which will be music inspires. We have 6 middle names that we love in the comment section, please pick your favorite 3 middle names.
Looking for the perfect name for our baby girl. She is due in early December. My husband and I have a list in the comments. Please tell us your opinions on our names. New names are more then welcome! Thank you
We have an older daughter Skyler Naomi and we are expecting triplet girls. The name Riley Grace has already been picked out for one of the three. Please list your top 3 (just in case we decide not to use one of the names). Thank you so much!
We did two separate polls yesterday but hubby thought we should just do one with our five names. Middle name will be Paige, which is my middle name too. Here are the names: Hannah Paige, Julia Paige, Laura Paige, Mia Paige, Olivia Paige.
