What do you think of the name Ever for a girl?

I’m trying to help out my sister! She needs a girl name that goes well with big brothers Oliver and Christopher! She prefers feminine, classic things which have nice meanings and would like to use either Claire, Ann, or Katherina as a middle name. She had her heart set on Charlotte, but a friend JUST used it (she dislikes Scarlett, the obvious alternative).

I posted a poll a few days ago with the name Jules in it (for a boy). I got some negative reponses, but I’m really partial to it. I feel like it’s a nice alternative to Julian, and it’s really rare and distinctive these days. I might need to let this one go, but I really do love it; it reminds me of Jules Verne, etc. I had some responses suggesting that it might be girly. Do you think it is okay to use for a boy (if paired with a very masculine middle name)? Please comment!

I’m trying to pick a girl’s name right now, and I’m really trying to find one that’s not going to shoot up to #1 in a year or two. I’m partial to ones that are relatively rare at the moment, but seem to me to be rapidly gaining in popularity: Evelin, Evangeline, Clementine, Juilet, Lila, Meredith, Sadie, Eva, Adeline, Amelia, Scarlett, Charlotte, Hazel, Irene, Sophia, Ivy, Violet, Iris, Grace, Elissa, Elise, Eliza, Claire, Cecilia, Eleanor, Elaine. I’m curious...which of these do you think may take off over the next five years or so? Which seem like they’ll safely stay out of the top ten? What other names seem like they’re going to make big gains on the charts in the near future? Just out of curiosity, are there any currently uncommon boy’s names that you think are on the verge of making it really (too) big?

We are expecting our first baby in a couple months. My husband is in the coast guard and his best friend who was also the bestman at our wedding died at sea just a couple weeks ago. His last name was Johnstone and it was what everyone refered to him. We want to somehow include this in our baby’s name to honor our best friend who was only 23 and we like it as a first name. Is this too much for a first name? Thank you! Sian and Scott
