Hi! My husband and I found out about a week ago that we are having a boy and we are so excited. We have composed our "preliminary" list, but we plan to revise it many times. Our list is very large, so we would like to know your top 10 and your bottom 10 and then if you feel ambitious, why you like them or don’t like them. The middle names we have paired with them aren’t final, just ideas. Thanks!

What do you think of Elliot for a girl? We might consider spelling it Ellyett. Thanks for your input.

I’m 32 weeks pregnant and still no middle name! I don’t like "common" names or really "unusual" names so we’re having some trouble. We’ve been considering using my middle name and naming her Brooklynn Nicole, but it’s very common and I don’t want big sister to feel left out later. Her name is Makenna Taylor. Please help!

I’ve heard of some people who call their children by their middle names from the beginning. What do you think of doing this? Any advice on situations that may come up? I have a girl’s combo with a family first name that I prefer in that order and then calling her by the middle name.

I’ve noticed the name Elliot, comes up on this site quite a bit. Usually with some controversy along with it. (NOTE: I am not looking for an argument). I am just wondering with a simple vote what everyone thinks. I personally know one boy named Elliot, hes 24. And 3 girls named Elliot, one is 21, one is 10 and one is 6. Where do you think the name Elliot belongs on the boy-girl scale? Or is it truly gender neutral. Feel free to comment as well! :)

Hi everyone- we just came up with our favorite two names for our daughter who is due october 4th, but....Dylan is the name of my cousins son, and Ryann is the last name of his cousins. So we are totally tied up and we don’t know what to do. Is it okay if we chose one of these names or do you think we need to start from scratch? please let ys know what you think!- Kate and Jesse

So here’s the deal. I absolutely love the name Caden Asher. Its the only name that my husband actually agrees on. After hearing "umm no" after every name I suggested I finally came up with Caden Asher and I got "Love it". The problem is is that I have a friend with a son name Caden. She’s been my friend for a little less than a year. We text on the phone quite a bit but we only hang out about once a month. Is it worth throwing the name out? She’s not one of my best friends but is a friend. What do you think?
